Privacy policy
Version 2026-10-01
Prateek Gupta (“we”) runs My Academy and decides how your personal data is used. This policy is written under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
What we collect, and why
- From Google, when you sign in: your name, email address and Google account ID — to sign you in and know your account. We never see your Google password.
- What you give us: your institute’s name, and any header, cover or logo you upload — to print them on your papers.
- What you make: your conversations and the papers built from them — to build, keep and change your papers.
- How you use it: the papers you build each day, what each AI request cost, and server logs (which include your IP address) — to apply the daily limit, keep the service working and fix problems.
We use only the cookies the service needs to keep you signed in and secure. Your light or dark choice stays in your browser. There is no advertising and no tracking, and we do not sell your data.
Do not put your students’ personal details into a conversation; the service does not need them.
Who processes it
- Google Cloud hosts the service, your files and the logs, in Mumbai.
- Supabase hosts the database, in Mumbai.
- OpenRouter, and the AI model provider it sends a request to, receive what you write in a conversation, to write the reply. They may process it outside India.
We may read a conversation to fix a problem or improve the service. We share data with no one else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Until you close your account. Closing it deletes your account, conversations, papers and files at once. Server logs are kept for 180 days, as Indian law requires, and backups expire within 30 days. A record of what AI requests cost is kept, without anything that identifies you.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, and you can nominate someone to act for you. Closing your account withdraws your consent and deletes your data. Write to the grievance officer below; if you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Security
Data travels encrypted, files are private to your account, and only we can reach the systems that hold them. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the Board as the law requires.
